Den Brook Valley Wind Farm

COMMUNITY LIAISON GROUP

Further to consultation with community representatives, parish councils and members of the borough and county councils, we have taken on board views about how the wider public consultation should be undertaken.

As a result, we have set up a Community Liaison Group, to improve communications between RES and local communities up to and during the wind farm's construction. The Group is made up of representatives from all of the local communities around the wind farm and meets every 1-2 months to discuss any matters relating to the project.

Terms of Reference.
The terms of reference were discussed at the Group's first meeting on 23rd March 2010 and were presented to the May meeting for final sign-off. The draft version can be seen here. (PDF, 43KB)

Membership

The initial membership of the CLG has been based on the inclusion of elected representatives for the communities within the immediate area surrounding the Den Brook wind farm site. Having set up the initial structure for the Group, based on a democratically accountable membership, it is the prerogative of the members to invite or elect other community representatives on to the group for future meetings, and/or invite specialists to meetings to discuss certain topics in more detail as required.
